In 2016, after four years of writing and rewriting, I typed "The End" to my coming-of-age novel, Girl in a Foxhole. I was so immersed in it that I, wisely, looked for a cool, professional eye to spot plot and character glitches and to “doctor” goofs in punctuation, spelling, syntax, etc. Lucky me! I found Lee Ann Pingel, an editor who knows her stuff and is easy to work with. Beyond my expectations, she researched the training of AME pastors and assisted in fine-tuning African-American dialect of the 1940s. She offered just the right support to take me to the finish line.
Lee Ann did an excellent job editing my manuscript. It was a real bonus that she was able to proofread the transliterated titles of the many Russian-language sources that appeared in my footnotes.
